Inauguration of the Spirituality Course
(29th Batch: 2025-2026)
At Dhyanavana, Mysore

On Monday June 30, 2025, the Holistic Spirituality Course was inaugurated at Dhyanavana by Rev. Dr. Alphonse Britto OCD – the Provincial Councilor in-charge of Spirituality.

The Inaugural Mass was participated by the community Fathers namely – Rev. Dr. Rathan Almeida OCD the Director; Fr. Ajith Rodrigues OCD the Dean of Studies; Fr. Nikesh D’Souza OCD the Procurator and Rev. Fr. Jeevan Tauro OCD the first resource person for the present academic year 2025-2026.

The number of participants for the course at present is 36, out of which some are yet to come.

We hereby wish the new batch all the very best and a fruitful stay at Dhyanavana!

Seminar organized by Dhyanavana and Mysore CRI on "Jubilee Year of Hope - We are Pilgrims of Hope" - February 16, 2025.
Dhyanavana, International Institute of Spirituality, Mysore, in association with Mysore CRI organized Fr. Nemesio Alzola Memorial Lectures on the 16th of February 2025 at Pushpashrama Auditorium. The Theme chosen was, “We are Pilgrims of Hope.” There were two input sessions. One, on the Biblical Perspective on Hope by Rev. Dr. Joseph Titus, Professor in Scripture, St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, Bengaluru and the second paper was on “How to be People of Hope today,” by Rev. Dr. Joy Francis, Director, Ryshivana, Mangalore. After the talks we had a panel discussion. This was followed by business session and the program ended with a sumptuous meal. More than 200 religious participated in this seminar.

Today, November 14, 2024 highlighted a special visit by Rev. Fr. Ramiro Casale OCD - the General Delegate of OCDS,
along with Rev. Fr. Silvestre D'Souza OCD - the Provincial Superior of OCD Karnataka-Goa Province and
Rev. Fr. Alphonse Britto OCD - the Councillor in-charge of Spirituality.

The Eucharistic Celebration followed and awarding of the certificates to the student-sisters who completed their
course by our special visitors, marked the significance of the day.

FR. RAMIRO CASALE, General Delegate of OCDS
Biography (A brief note on Fr Ramiro)

Fr. Ramiro was born in the city of Zacatecas, Mexico, on 28th June 1971. He studied Company Administration in his native city and worked in management and finance. He entered the OCD Order on 15th July 2001 in the California-Arizona Province, U.S.A., making his First Profession on 2nd February 2003.

He studied at the Mount Angel Seminary in the State of Oregon and obtained a Licentiate in Philosophy and Letters and a master’s degree in theology and divinity. He also studied Theology at the Theological Faculty of Teresianum, in Rome and was awarded a Doctorate in Psychology by the Salesian Pontifical University, Rome.

Fr. Ramiro made his Solemn Profession in Rome, on 14th December 2007, and was ordained priest in Alhambra, California, on 20th June 2009. He served as Director of the Carmelite Institute of Spirituality in Stanwood, Washington and was also Master of Postulants, Novices and Students. In October 2021, he was appointed General Delegate for the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order (OCDS).

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION : September 5, 2023

Teachers’ Day was celebrated in an extraordinary way. Very creatively the participants greeted Frs. Rathan, Augustine, Dolphy and Sr. Virginia SAB, the Professor for classes, as well as all the sisters who are teachers by profession. During the Holy Eucharistic celebration, all the teachers were remembered and prayed for in a special way. The day was made special with a vibrant cultural programme in the evening.

MYSORE DARSHAN : September 3, 2023

Dhyanavana Community was out on a Mysore Darshan visiting all the historical places. The day was special as it was a day of relaxation as well as filled with happiness and cheer. It was interesting to many as it was their first visit to Mysore. All had a good time.

23rd Convocation Program of Dhyanavana

The 23rd Convocation program of Dhyanavana, International Spirituality Centre, Mysore, was held on Thursday, March 19th at 6 pm. Prof. Cletus D'souza, M.Sc., Ph.D., gave an inspiring convocation address. V. Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao, Ocd, released the Dhyanavana Silver Jubilee Annual. Most Rev. Dr. K. A. William, Bishop of Mysore, conferred the Diplomas and Certificates to 60 student sisters. The Dhyanavana sisters put up a few cultural items. Many Priests, Religious, Well wishers and friends attended the function.

DHYANAVANA DAY : SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION,
September 22, 2019

On Sunday September 22nd, Dhyanavana Silver Jubilee was celebrated at Pushpashrama. Dhyanavanais an International Institute of Spirituality where the Carmelite Fathers (OCD) offer nine-months UG and PG Diploma and Certificate Courses from Teresianum, Pontifical Institute of Spirituality, Rome; as well as from the University of Mysore accredited to St. Philomena’s College, Mysore. Since three years we have also begun M.A. in Holistic Spirituality from the University of Mysore. Around 45 priests and 450 religious and lay people participated in the Holy Eucharist and the Jubilee program. Most Rev. Sebastian Adayanthrath, New Bishop of Mandya, Fr. Charles Serrao OCD Provincial and many other dignitaries participated in the function. Bishop and Fr. Gregory D’Souza OCD, the founder of Dhyanavana were felicitated. Dhyanavana Sisters put up a multi cultural program which was well appreciated. We thank all of you for your support towards Dhyanavana.

INAUGURATION OF THE 23RD DIPLOMA COURSE OF DHYANAVANA:

On Sunday, 30 June, the 23rd Diploma Course in Spirituality of Dhyanavana was inaugurated. Fr. Pius James OCD Vicar Provincial, was the Main Celebrant of the Inaugural Eucharist. Around 125 Priests, Sisters and Friends participated in the celebration. This year we have 52 participants for the Dhyanavana Diploma Course from all over India from around 30 congregations.
