SUMMER COURSES 2024
The Summer Course this year was organized from April 15 to May 25, 2024, with intense input sessions on various topics for 5 whole weeks, followed by a retreat, marking the successful conclusion of the entire course. The overall participants consisted of around 150 in number.

The topics and resource persons are as follows:
April 15-20: Consecrated Life - Re-Visiting as School of Love - by Fr. Sunil D'Souza OCD
April 22 - 27: Human Wholeness (Psycho-Spiritual Integration) - by Sr. Lilly Chacko SMMI
April 29 - May 4: Mind Management (Anxiety, Stress, Burnout) - by Fr. Praveen D'Souza OCD
May 6 - 11: Creative Leadership for a Productive Community- by Fr. Cleophas Braganza SDB
May 13 - 18: Growing in Godliness and Spiritual Maturity - by Fr. Rathan N Almeida OCD

27TH CONVOCATION DAY AT DHYANAVANA
The 27th convocation day held at Dhyanavana was a resounding success, marked by a spirit of celebration and achievement. Esteemed guests, fathers, sisters, and brothers from different communities gathered to honour the graduating students of 2023-2024. The ceremony commenced with a solemn invocation featuring a prayer dance, followed by a welcome speech, the annual report, a fusion dance, and inspiring speeches from distinguished speakers. Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and Apostolic administrator of Mysore Diocese, highlighted the importance of education and lifelong learning. Rev. Fr. Silvestre D’Souza OCD, the Provincial Superior of the Karnataka Goa Province, spoke on the theme of the convocation, "Religious Today: Beacons of Hope," after releasing the Dhyanavana souvenir. He emphasized the need to be beacons of joy. Additionally, Prof. Mary P. Kurien from St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, in her keynote address, highlighted the significance of women and their empowerment in the church and society. The highlight of the event was the conferring of diplomas and certificates upon the graduating students, who walked across the stage with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance were celebrated as they embarked on the next chapter of their lives. The convocation concluded with heartfelt congratulations, applause, and well-wishes for the graduates as they ventured forth to make a positive impact on the world. Overall, the 27th convocation day at Dhyanavana was a memorable occasion, serving as a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and personal growth. It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and anticipation for the bright futures that lie ahead for the students of Dhyanavana. This year, Dhyanavana is blessed with a harvest of 74 sisters. We thank God for showering his blessings on this institute and all the staff members, professors, and participants. Cheers to 27 years of Dhyanavana, a home of love.

"BLESSING OF OUR RENOVATED CHAPEL"
On March 10 (Sunday), we celebrated Laetare Sunday and on this auspicious day our renovated Chapel was blessed in the evening. Most Rev. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Mysore was the Chief Celebrant of the day. The new Altar, the Ambo and the Tabernacle were blessed and now the Chapel is ready for our daily prayers and Eucharistic celebrations. After the spiritual celebration we all, along with our guests gathered in the refectory for dinner.


 

Seminar on February 18, 2024
Dhyanavana, International Institute of Spirituality in collaboration with Mysore CRI organizes, annually, Nemezio Alzola Memorial Lectures in Jan/Feb. This year, on February 18, 2024, a half-day seminar on "St. Therese of Child Jesus: Little Way - A Path to Holiness" in commemoration of her 150th Birth Anniversary (1873-2023) and the Centenary of her Beatification (1923-2023) was organized at Pushpashrama, Institute of Philosophy and Religion. Rev. Dr. Rathan Almeida OCD the Director of Dhyanavana welcomed the gathering and briefed the audience about the purpose of the seminar. The lighting of the lamp was done by all the dignitaries of the Seminar. Many priests, religious and brothers from near and far attended the seminar making it a success.

DHYANAVANA
Dhyanavana, which in Sanskrit means a ‘meditation-garden’ or better ‘the context of God experience’, is esthetically and artistically designed to offer a healthy atmosphere and conducive facilities for the spiritual formation and renewal programme. Since 1997, this institute has been conducting the long-term diploma course of nine-months and other short-term courses throughout the year, attended so far by over 5000 religious men and women from India and abroad.
